| Investment in infrastructure can raise productivity by increasing returns to private capital. In the public sector, investment in infrastructure can raise the quality and efficiency of health, education and other public services. Total capital investment consists of all of the investments in buildings, networks (roads, cables), ports and machinery and equipment by government, companies and other organizations. ____________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________ The Batanes economy of tomorrow will require infrastructure investment: 1. to accommodate economic growth; 2. to keep existing infrastructure in good condition, 3. to improve the efficiency and quality of public services, as technology and methods of delivering service change. To meet the infrastructure investment challenge facing Batanes, more investment is needed. This challenge cannot be met by the province acting alone. |
