| Manila - The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT) offers scholarships to motivated working students and professionals. Through the Blessed Arnould Assistance Program (BASAP), aspiring scholars can now apply for scholarships to two degree programs under the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration: majors in Business Management and Marketing Management. Applicants must be working men and women at least 19 years old with a gross personal income not over 120,000.00 (Philippine pesos). They should have satisfactory high school records or may have started but were not able to complete their college degrees. discount on tuition and miscellaneous fees for Filipinos who had to stop studying due to financial constraint but are still interested to earn a degree. It is a requirement that the applicant is working (maparin aran household helpers/maids). If one gets accepted in the program and losses his/her job while still studying, there is a working student employment program to sustain them while looking for another job. However, they're only allowed to work for 6 hours a day at 32.00 pesos per hour. Caccam said there's also a scholarship for the top ten of the graduating batch of selected public high schools nationwide. This is one of the two new scholarships that Caccam proposed last school year intended to make the Lasallian education available to more Filipinos, especially to financially challenged families. The other is the Benildean Hope Scholarship - a scholarship intended for street children and indigenous people in partnership with accredited NGOs of CSB. Caccam sent application forms to BNSHS (Batanes National Science High School) for their top ten and she hopes some will make it. In addition to the above scholarships, there's also for the deaf community in the DLS-CSB's School of Deaf Education and Applied Arts. According to Caccam, 95% of the deaf students are full scholars, and application is now going on. The college has lots more.
